Algorithm is a strategy that is guaranteed to work. That's because algorithm is a procedure developed to produce a solution if followed correctly. For example, trying to put every shape of LEGO blocks in a particular hole in order to find the one that fits, is an algorithm that will eventually lead to a solution. But it might take long. In this case we would come to a conclusion quicker if we inspected the shape of the hole and then eliminated some blocks based on the shape.
