The American Revolution affected other countries by spreading the ideas of liberty and equality and the idea of a modern republican government founded on laws. Almost all revolutions since the American Revolution have occurred in the name of liberty-the struggle for freedom has become global. In the 20th century, the colonized countries of the third world showed dissatisfaction and opposition to the imperial European powers like American colonies fought for freedom and independence from Britain. The American Revolution gave individuals a new perspective- so enslaved people and women would draw inspiration from revolutionary feelings of freedom and equality soon after the American Revolution. Consequently, the revolution left a significant mark on the monarchies - the French revolution broke out immediately after the American revolution.
