Auschwitz concentration camp was located in former army barracks in Poland. The prisoners had to adapt buildings. They finished the adaptation in 1942. The majority of the 28 two-story buildings housed prisoners. Each block was designed to house around 700 prisoners, but they actually housed around 1,200 prisoners.
