List at least four types of brain lesions that may be determined by EEG studies.
Solutions
VerifiedEpilepsy is uncontrolled activation of the neurons in the brain the impulses are transmitted chaotically through the brain activating neurons resulting in uncontrolled movement, muscle spasms, production of saliva, and temporary loss of consciousness. In some cases can be generalized and affect the entire brain. Blood cloths are lowering or completely stopping the circulation through the arteries that are the key for lowering neuron activity of that area of the brain. Abscess is a hole in the brain filled with pus, dead cells as a result of infection. In this area of the brain, EEG is not registering any type of activity. Tumors can be electrically inactive or they can put pressure on surrounding structures causing epilepsy.
The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures the electrical activity of the brain to diagnose its health, so the doctor could interpret if the person has potential problems related to his/her brain.
