The elbow joint is a synovial joint located in the upper limb between the arm and the forearm, includes two articulations- a hinge joint (between the trochlea of the humerus and the radius and the ulnas trochlear notch) and the plane joint ( between capitulum of the humerus and fovea of the radius). These articulations are held together by the joint capsule and thicken by the ulnar and radial collateral ligaments. The ulnar collateral ligament is ligament on the inside of the elbow, runs from the inner side of the humerus to the inner side of the ulna and has two portions. The anterior portion connects the medial epicondyle of the humerus and olecranon process of the ulna. The radial collateral ligament is composed of a fibrous band extending between the lateral epicondyle of the humerus and the annular ligament of the radius, and helps to stabilize the elbow joint.
