Question

Parabiotic ob/obo b / o b Mice By careful surgery, researchers can connect the circulatory systems of two mice so that the same blood circulates through both animals. In these parabiotic mice, products released into the blood by one animal reach the other animal via shared circulation. Both animals are free to eat independently. If a mutant ob/abo b / a b mouse (both copies of the OBO B gene are defective) and a normal OB/OBO B / O B mouse (two good copies of the OBO B gene) were made parabiotic, what would happen to the weight of each mouse?

The obob/obob mouse will lose weight due to the signal (leptin) from the normal mouse received by the hypothalamus. This will cause the mouse to reduce eating. On the other hand, normal mouse will maintain its weight due to the normal function of leptin.
