The government does not send an invoice for the amount of payroll taxes due. Businesses must keep accurate records of the payroll taxes withheld and employer payroll taxes to ensure the correct amount is paid. The payroll tax liability accounts provide a record of all payroll taxes due. The balance in the account is the amount that should be paid to the government.
Peachtree provides two methods to obtain the outstanding balances of general ledger accounts. A report of general ledger accounts presents each transaction and the ending balance of every account. Another window reports only the monthly total debits and credits and balance for a single account.
