What are the two types of nuclear reactions?

When we talk about nuclear reactions, in these reactions the reactants are atomic nuclei or some subatomic particles and some atomic nuclei, and when collision between these particles occurs, the products will be some nuclides.

The two main types of nuclear reactions are nuclear transmutation reactions and nuclear decay reactions.

When we talk about nuclear transmutation reactions, these are the reactions where some nucleus reacts with some other nucleus or subatomic particle to form a new nucleus which has higher mass and higher energy (it is more unstable) than the starting nucleus.

When we talk about nuclear decay reactions, these are the reactions where some nucleus is emitting radiation to form a new nucleus (or more than one) which has lower mass and lower energy (it is more stable) than the starting nucleus.
