1 of 2

The gravitational force exerted by the Earth on a person is called the weight of the person.

According to Newton's Third Law, the gravitational force with which the person acts on the Earth must be equal in magnitude and opposite in direction relative to the gravitational force with which the Earth acts on the person. The reason why former force is negligible is due to the fact that the Earth is much more massive than a regular person.
