In a 1982 essay, Ray Bradbury wrote, "People ask me to predict the Future, when all I want to do is prevent it." Although his popularity as a writer was primarily due to his science fiction writings, Bradbury was, ironically, very famously anti-technology. He believed that the modern world with its abundance of technology- its computers, cell phones and internet- was gearing itself up for an impending doom.
