Question

What were the causes and effects of the Thirty Years' War?

Solution

Verified

The causes of the 30 Years' War mainly revolved around religious concerns. Catholic and Protestant leaders were at odds during the beginning of this war. Once the fighting began there were some political causes as well, because the war became a dispute over European domination and leadership. The result of the 30 Years' War was new territories for Sweden, France and their allies. The modern state system was created in response to the ending of this war, and national sovereignty was established in Europe.
