Question

Why are volcanoes often found along both convergent and divergent plate boundaries?

Solution

Verified

Plates interact with one another in certain locations called plate boundaries. This interaction causes movements that create fractures and leave an opening where the magma can flow. This opening found in the Earth’s crust that allows the molten rock or magma to come out to the surface is called a volcano. This is the reason why most volcanoes are formed in plate boundaries across continents and oceans. Most of them are placed along mid-ocean ridges and subduction zones.
