X-rays have a greater frequency than radio waves. Yet with their lower wavelength and greater frequency, X-rays are more harmful because they penetrate deeper into the human body and interact with and influence cells, occasionally resulting in neoplastic transformation of cells. Excessive X-ray exposure can alter the genes in a person's cells, leading to cancer. As their capacity to interact and affect cells improves, so does the danger of radiation illness, cancer, and other radiation-caused disorders.
