Given:\textbf{Given:}

Need to sell at least 5050 boxes of cookies for fundraiser.

let the number of boxes to be sold is given by xx.

(a.)

Inequality is x50x\geq50.

(b.)

2626 boxes are sold.

Let yy represent the remaining number of boxes.

y=x26\Rightarrow y=x-26.

x=26+y\therefore x=26+y

Put the value of xx in inequality we got in part (a).

26+y50\Rightarrow 26+y\geq50

Subtract 2626 from both side of inequality:

26+y26502626+y-26\geq50-26

y24\Rightarrow y\geq24.

So for reaching goal 2424 boxes are still remaining to sell.
