Terms in this set (3)
INCARNATION (when God become human (Jesus), literally means 'in the flesh')
It is when God become human through Jesus: 'In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit'
God became human to show his love for humans and to pay the price for original sin: 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son '
SALVATION (to be saved / get into heaven)
You are saved by your faith (Jesus said: 'whoever believes in me shall not perish but shall inherit eternal life')
You are saved by your behaviour: following God's laws/rules) as in the parable of the Sheep and Goats - whatever you do for the least of my brothers you do for me also. You will be judged on how much you help or ignore the poor and needy.
ATONEMENT (to pay a sin. The belief that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross paid for original sin and all the other sins of humans, and this healed the relationship between God and humans.)
Jesus' death paid the price for original sin: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son '
If you accept Jesus' sacrifice (by believing in Jesus) you will be saved: 'whoever believes in me shall not perish but shall inherit eternal life'
