-their friends had already joined
What were pals battalions?
This was when friendship groups joined the war together
Advantages of pals battalions
- More people signed up
- people so the opportunity to go on holiday with their friends
Disadvantages of pals battalions
- whole towns of men were wiped out because they all thought on "no mans land" together.
- Many people came home injured.
What were the conscientious objectors
These were people who refused to fight in war.
