Which direction should a rugby pass go?
Backwards - if a rugby pass is thrown forwards, a penalty will be awarded to the opponents
How many players are on a team? (rugby league)
13 - the starting line up consists of 13 players with 4 players on the interchange bench
How many points are awarded for a try?
4 points - when a try is scored 4 points are added to the scoreboard. With a conversion to come.
How many points are awarded for a field/drop goal?
1 point - a drop kick that goes over the posts gives the attacking team 1 point.
How long does a normal rugby league game last?
80 minutes - the final whistle is blown after 80 minutes have been played.
What is meant by the term 'knock on'
Dropping the ball forwards - if a player drops the ball and it goes backwards, play can continue.
How many players from each team is in a scrum?
6 players - 1 loose forward, 2 second rows, 2 prop forwards and 1 hooker.
Where on an opponents body is it illegal to tackle?
neck and head - a referee will award a penalty if a player is 'high tackled'
What happens when a player is 'sin binned'
the player receives a yellow card and must not take part in the game for 10 minutes and can not be interchanged.
How many tackles are there in 1 set of play?
6 tackles - on the fifth tackle, if a player is tackled he/she must 'turnover' the ball to the opposition.
