Who was Granville Sharp?
He was a former slave who recorded his brutal experience of slavery to world. After he gained his freedom he was a sailor, a soldier, North Pole explorer. He was most likely the son of and African chief in what we now call Nigeria. He learned business from one of his owners so he was able to become a really successful London business man. More present day history that revolves around Equiano is that he may not have been born in Africa but in South Carolina. His story helped abolish slavery.

An English politician, philanthropist, and leader of the movement to abolish the slaves trade. He and his other fellow members of parliament abolished slavery in 1833 after the British voted. He was the main politician who abolished slavery and he was awarded for his work. The other politicians were factors however William was the leader and was the planner who gained such success.
