What type of system is the water cycle?
A closed system, its boundary is the atmosphere.
The starting point of the global water cycle is evaporation, what happens after this initial evaporation?
Warmth from the sun causes water from the sea, lakes and rivers to rise into the air and turn into water vapour which is transported by vapour transport. Additional water is added through transpiration. As this water vapour rises it cools due to temperature drops, this moisture laden air condenses, forming clouds. This results in precipitation which lands in various areas some returning to the oceans, rivers and lakes directly;some falling on land and running back into stores of water through the soil.

More Co2 to act as a greenhouse gas, global temperature rise, warms the oceans, increased oceanic temperatures, warm water is less able to dissolve gas, dissolved C02 released by warmer oceans, C02 back into the atmosphere.
Give an example of a negative feedback in the water cycle.
Increased use of fossil fuels, increase in atmospheric C02, global temperature increase, more plant growth, increased take up of C02, reduces atmospheric C02, reduced C02 has a dampening effect and reduces global temperatures.
